Abby Aceves Artist
About
(She/her) Abby Aceves (b. 1985 Nogales, Sonora, México) I am a Los Angeles-based self-taught painter and interdisciplinary artist. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from the Superior Fashion Center Edith Martin in Guadalajara, Jalisco, I worked in the fashion industry under my own label for seven years before shifting my focus to fine arts. Having spent half of my life in México, I felt a strong need to broaden my possibilities in the art world, which led me to significantly change my personal path by relocating to Los Angeles, California—a place I’ve proudly called home for the past six years.
My exhibition portfolio includes works featured in prominent galleries and museums across California, such as The Cheech Museum in Riverside, the San Diego Museum of Art, Boathouse Gallery at Plaza de la Raza in Los Angeles, Modern Eden in San Francisco, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, among others. I am also a Contributing Artist 2024-2025 for the Lakers in the Paint Grant. My work has been acquired by individuals in the entertainment industry, added to the personal collection of 1Culture Gallery in San Jose, and incorporated into the AltaMed Art Foundation Collection.
